For NORC and older adult center staff

For the neighbor who needs more than the program can give.

For NORC social workers and nurses, older adult center directors, and Geriatric Mental Health Initiative clinicians.

What you’re seeing

You know your building or your center. You know who stopped coming to lunch, who lost a spouse this year, who says they’re fine and isn’t. You can do a lot for them. You can’t do weekly psychotherapy for all of them.

How Haven fits

Ongoing individual therapy by phone, from the person’s own apartment, with a clinician who works with older adults every day, coordinated with you. Where a center has its own clinician, we can be the overflow and the long-term partner. When it makes sense, we’ll come to you for a screening day or an introduction over coffee.

Does this cost the member?

It depends on their coverage. Many people with Medicare and supplemental coverage pay little or nothing, and we review coverage with each person before they start.

What happens after you connect someone

  1. You send their details: secure form, phone, or fax.

  2. We call the person, with their consent, and have an unhurried first conversation. A regular phone works fine.

  3. We review their coverage and match them with a licensed clinician who has experience working with older adults.

  4. We confirm back to you that we’ve connected, and with the person’s permission, keep you informed as care proceeds.

What we send back

Confirmation that we reached the person. With their consent, a brief intake summary in plain language and periodic updates at a cadence you ask for.
